Star Wars The Clone Wars Complete season 2
Star Wars The Clone Wars Complete season 2 (blu-ray) (Warner Home Video)
Unfortunately I can only review disc 2 of 3 of the season as this was all I was sent and it wasn’t until I finished watching it that I thought to myself “Christ that was a short season, 7 episodes, what bullshit is this?” I then turned to the joy that is the internet (that’s right people it’s not just porn on here) and discovered that there should in fact be 22 episodes!!!
Right then, onto the important stuff. The 7 episodes I got to see had a good mixture of warfare, intrigue and random crap from R2D2 playing pranks to political espionage. We start with General Grievous in the episodes I saw who has captured a Jedi master and it up to Obi and Anakin to save the day again. What I liked is that Grievous has become a lot more dangerous villain and kicks some serious ass. Plenty of fights for the people looking for them although they do tend to be on the short side but considering the episodes are less than 30 mins each that’s to be expected I guess. Shame really. We also get to watch Ahsoka learn an important lesson during her training on how to look after her shit properly. One thing you really must watch out for is the worlds most inept bounty hunter who manages to miss his target on several occasions, my daughter could have done better really. There has been a good infusion of comedy into the season as well and I found myself laughing quite often. The Inspector Clouseau-esq police man was awesome and you know from the way he acts he’s gonna turn out to be an absolute genius, I hope he makes another appearance. The animation lives up to what was established in the first season and continues to blow me away with the little details really making an impact, look at the eyes to see what I mean. All in all an enjoyable couple of hours spent watching this and it really made me want to watch the rest of the season to see what happens. An absolute must for any Clone Wars fans out there. Happy Hunting …A bad bounty hunter reference was needed somewhere… Will Pywell
