Melonheadman – The Good And The Bad CD (Savage Acts I’m not sure that the band’s name compliments the music they play, but moving that personal opinion swiftly aside MelonHeadMan’s The Good And The Bad is a fine debut album. The opening track ‘Voodoo Lover’ illustrates the influences to which the band would readily admit, and the ensuing tracks continue the musical journey. We’re talking South here (and I don’t mean Bournemouth); Jim Dandy, Ronnie Van Zandt, Greg and Duane Allman, even early ZZ Top. There is some fine writing, vocals and instrumentation on here; Dr Decimus Crow and Dandy Cobalt have performed an admirable job in getting this album recorded, mixed and prodcued in the manner to which it is intended. Buy it, go home, pour yourself a large Jack. Sit down, press play and enjoy. The South has risen again. Lauren Barley
