With ‘TCKF:V2’ you get an absolutely outstanding collection of grind / power violence and hardcore punk courtesy of Relapse Records featuring tracks by:- Lack of Interest, Owen Hart, Noisear, Hummingbird of Death, Drugs of Faith, Marion Barry, Crom, Apartment 213, Septic Surge, Population Reduction, Despise You, Triac, Idiots Parade, Extortion, Three Faces of Eve, Voestek, Superbad and Strong Intention. Various Artist records; although a cheap and cheerful introduction to new bands can, more often than not be pretty god damn lame. We’ve all bought or been given a V/A CD which on paper looks promising but in reality is a steaming pile of lukewarm crap. This is not the case with ‘TCKF:V2’ however and each of its 73 tracks fiercely rip you a new one! Just like the V/A CD’s can be a mixed bag, so can the so called ‘grind’ or ‘power violence’ genre(s)… Just because you play fast and your music is nasty sounding doesn’t mean I want to listen to your songs, your music is still subject to the same scrutiny as I’d give any band and it is, for that reason I’m giving this comp a massive thumbs up!!! The selection of bands and their short and sweet songs contained herein are unrivalled in their excellence, musical craftsmanship and the collection as a whole makes for an extremely rewarding, head-banging, steering wheel slapping listen… be that at a stupidly fast BPM. If you like you music fast, loud and chaotic but with a shred if intelligence then this compilation is for you, stand out bands for me were Lack of Interest, Owen Hart, Crom and Despise You. To be fair though they’re all fucking great and I cannot recommend you buy this CD enough! – Ioan
