Perfection! There’s just one word for Converge’s new album… PER-bloody-FECTION! True artists can make the most difficult stuff come across as being easy. Doesn’t matter if it’s a football player like Lionel Messi or a painter like Rembrandt. For these people their respective art feels like it’s as easy as breathing. We have to bow deep for these people’s talents. We’ll never be in that same league. Converge are also in a league of their own. As always it feels like an incomprehensible, inconsistent collection of riffs and noises, but the level to which these emotions can reach – wow, my poor brain can never understand. Furious molten metal is flying around as if the waters of the sea have met an avalanche of lava somewhere under a scorching South-Pacific sun. The Gods of metal can see the correlation in every drop of boiling water and dying ember and we, the mortals, can only listen and obey to this force of nature.
