Just when you think it can’t get any better, along come a band to prove you wrong, a band so different, that you immediately take a shine to them and spend two days listening to the record that’s flipped your world upside down. That’s right folks, I’ve gone ga-ga for the Diablo Swing Orchestra and their dazzling fusion of metal, classical music, traditional European folk, swing and Opera. It’s strange, bizarre, frightening, appealing and entrancing and never less than incredible, a soundtrack to the metal nightmare that Gilbert & Sullivan have been laboriously attempting to finish in Hell. If all the Devil’s tunes are this sublime, then I’ll happily travel the road to damnation as long as the band keep playing on and on and on and on….Tim Mass Movement
