Crazy Arm release their second single, ‘Henry Fabian Flynn’, on 2nd November 2009, through Xtra Mile Recordings. Available on download-only format, the single comes with two new b-sides, ‘Roasting River’ and ‘Poverty & Spit’.

Paying tribute to the folk-roots stylings of Dick Gaughan, Pete Seeger, Phil Ochs et al, ‘Henry Fabian Flynn’ may seem like a rebel song at first glance but is, in truth, of a more sensitive nature. The band won’t divulge any information on the song’s namesake other than to say that it’s about death, life and all those sh*tty things in between that can turn into good things if you look at them from the right perspective.

It might even be about loyalty. Not a guilt-stricken sense of national loyalty that makes people want to wave silly little plastic flags but a simple, everyday loyalty that puts compassion over country.

‘Henry Fabian Flynn’ is the second single to be taken from the band’s debut album ‘Born To Ruin’ - a steamrolling, roots-punk opus that draws on a myriad of diverse influences ranging from ‘60s country-rock to hardcore punk to crunchy, guitar pop with a passionate allegiance to grass-roots politics.

The b-sides, ‘Roasting River’ and ‘Poverty & Spit’, are two of the band’s earliest, unreleased songs, written in 2005 and resurrected due to popular demand.

Spectrum 7
“…a remarkably assured meld of razor riffing, blast beats and ambient soundscapes.” - Kerrang! KKKK

Release Debut Mini Album ‘So Silent The Night’ through Xtra Mile Recordings on 26th October and announce People In Planes Support!

Jason Mirchandani (Vocals/Guitar) - Sean Shreeve (Vocals/Bass/Programming) - Jon Hardless (B.Vocals/Guitar) - Graeme Healy (Drums) - Henry Morrow (Keys/Synths/Guitar)

Following on from the release of their hard-hitting debut single ‘Blue Wray’ in September, Spectrum 7 can now reveal that their debut mini album ‘So Silent The Night’ will be released digitally on iTunes and other major DSPs on 26th October through Xtra Mile Recordings. The album was recorded earlier this year at Ignition Studio and was produced by Lester Woodward and Patrick Jonsson (50 Cent, Flood of Red, Furthest Drive Home, Skirtbox).

‘So Silent The Night’ shows a massive progression from bassist Sean Shreeve and guitarist Jon Hardless’ humble conception of the band jamming out guitar melodies backed only by a PS1. With a line up completed by Jason Mirchandani (Vocals), Henry Morrow (Synth/Guitar) and Graeme Healy (Drums) the band have gone on to produce one of this year’s most genre defiant albums. Tracks such as ‘Serafin’ and recent single ‘Blue Wray’ display the band’s ability to write face-melting riffery while ‘Glass Houses’ and ‘Everything I Learnt at School was a Lie’ have the electronic backbone that Aphex Twin and DJ Shadow would be proud to put their name too.

Tracklisting:
1. Blue Wray
2. Frozen
3. So Silent The Night
4. September
5. Everything I Learnt at School was a Lie
6. Glass Houses
7. Serafin

Having already supported the likes of Enter Shikari, The Xcerts, Cage the Elephant and Frank Turner the band will now hit the road in support of the release of ‘So Silent The Night’ at the following venues:

Fighting Fiction
Debut EP release ‘A Lesser Of Two Evils’
out on Dead Planet Records 16th November 09

Jacob Glew (vocals, guitar),
Andy Cooke (guitar, bass, backing vocals)
Matt Roffe (guitar, bass, backing vocals)
Rob Ballingall (drums)

Fighting Fiction’s debut EP ‘A lesser Of Two Evils’ is a powerful collision of indie rock guitar riffs, reggae tinged punk and socially aware lyrics. These are songs written with anger and sung with passion. The Bristol based four-piece evoke an honest and fundamentally English sound that is reminiscent of the brooding reggae guitar hooks of London Calling era Clash, the lyrical wordplay and vocal delivery of Billy Bragg, and more recently, the guitar based sing-along sensibilities of King Blues.

Recorded with Producer Mark Williams (Bloc Party, Biffy Clyro, Million Dead, Oceansize) a buoyant energy shines through the recording. The un-apologetic sheer youthfulness of gang vocal infused choruses and hook lines show the listener these songs are made to be sung back at them.
Borne of a mutual passion for live music and energetic performance, Fighting Fiction formed in late 2007 in Bristol when the four lads met at University. Drummer, Rob Ballingall explains why the group clicked. ‘Going to gigs together when we were getting to know each other just got us talking about what we enjoy about music… a massive part of it is crowd participation, we love hand-claps and sing-a-longs, call and response… It’s just a rush to get the audience involved’ The band have completed a 30+ date tour across the UK this summer, supporting the likes of This Town Needs Guns, Laura Marling, The Automatic and securing slots at both the Isle of Wight and Isle of Man TT festivals.

The debut EP ‘A Lesser Of Two Evils’ is released on the 16th November 2009, available on iTunes and Limited Edition CD.
