Here’s the U.K.s answer to Black Stone Cherry a stunning five piece from the Midlands who have a hunger to make their sound stick out – rock music tinged with heavy guitars and yet blues feel. Nick Pilgrim’s vocals are tough when they need to be, but also carry a depth of passion and feeling where the mellower parts are delivered. The 11 tracks of exhilarating classic rock infused tunes bound from within the speakers commanding the listener to obey the groove with a real ease. Big choruses, cutting guitars and a whole bunch of melody make Somnium a cracking debut CD of high quality. With a bit of airplay on Planet Rock Radio, these guys could go quite a way.
