Collisions – Believe In This CD (Self)
Music like this is quite simply built for the stage. If they have the stage presence required and suggested by the music then I could easily envision these guys bouncing all over a Download stage, with the audience going off in unison. Collisions ply that English accented Pendulum/Prodigy, drum and bass, bounce-bounce-bounce style of dance-rock that the kids just love to go mental to. Given a few beers I might join them! Plenty of samples, bleeps, guitar tapping and keyboards going on, but nothing so spasticated that it gets into the kitchen sink ridiculousness of acts like Enter Shikari. At twenty minutes, Believe In This is brief, very familiar and fairly safe, but it has a means-well type vibe, making it pretty harmless good time music. If they’re not found coming to a teen-rock festival near you next summer, someone will have dropped the ball. Chest Rockwell
