A two disk compilation, the proceeds of which go entirely to the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, so worth picking up even if you’re not familiar with the artists featured. Disk One is an eclectic mix of artists playing acoustic protest songs. The angry Bragg-esque folk rock of Jake & the Jellyfish kick things off nicely before continuing with a mixture of acoustic pop, rock and punk from Sophie Porter and CrazyArm. The earnestness of acoustic protest music might wear a little thing for some people so on Disk Two the bands ramp things up with an electric selection of songs that stretches to the reggae flavoured ‘Nothing But Love Songs’ from Future of Music to the raging Hardcore of XHaroldShitManX and Apologies I Have None. As with all comps there something for everyone and something everyone will hate but that’s half the fun of a comp eh? Ian Pickens
