In ten years time you’d expect a band to, not only play better, but have their own distinctive sound. Hungarian power metal band Wisdom are amazing musicians, but use just about every cheesy metal template in the book. The way songs are written and performed, and even the howling wolf in the intro of ‘Fallin’ Away From Grace’ they’re decades old clichés. There’s the bombast of Therion, the guitar-wizardry of Malmsteen, the power of Dragonforce and the variety of Helloween. It’s all just a little too over the top and the vibrato Nagy uses can, and sometimes does get on your nerves. Only for those who can never have enough power metal… Martijn Welzen
