Everything this Norwegian band does is schizophrenic. They use both Norwegian and German for their lyrics, often call themself ‘Balkan-metal’ and use all sort of extreme and often conflicting metal-styles to bring the message of the trolls to the people. This, however, is their fifth full-length and it is musically sound, a musical maturity developed through years of experience, a maturity delivered by an intense and insane bunch of beer drinking trolls who just don’t care about the unwritten rules of metal, anything goes, anytime and there’s plenty to celebrate in ‘Brumblebassen’. Restless beerdrinking folk music, that’s secretly, very good. Here’s to insanity! Martijn Welzen
