Municipal Waste / Toxic Holocaust – Toxic Waste Split EP (Tankcrimes)
Unity in metal still exists and two of the best current thrash bands prove it by delivering two great songs each for this split EP. The fun is over before you know it, as in the best crossover tradition, the songs are short, and to the point. Both bands are also on different sides of the thrash spectrum, but the songs work very well together. ‘Trapped in the Sites’ and ‘Mourning Sex’ by MW, kick in where the bands current full-length ‘The Fatal Feast’ never left off. It’s business as usual, with MW delivering killer tracks once again. And as MW are celebrating the end of civilization, Toxic Holocaust are more post-apocalyptic. ‘We Bring ‘Em Hell’ and ‘Altar-ed State’ violently cling to life in a polluted, rancid hell world. Topped off with amazing, old school, art-work, this a great record and a must have for all thrash addicts, of which, as we at MM know all too well, there are plenty…. Martijn Welzen
