Seven Ends – To The Worms CD (Massacre)
This debut CD from Seven Ends (who formed in 2007) is in a class of quality for new breed thrash metal. The 5 piece hailing from the Netherlands have delivered a fast intensive slab of new school thrash with a heavy Death (the band) vocal style influence, with Andy Classen doing a fine job on production duties bringing forward the bands musicianship and song writing abilities. On first listen it reeks of early death metal Kreator (era ‘Flag Of Hate’) – not a bad thing in my books, and the Slayer riffage is heavily noticeable, but Seven Ends seem to add a bit of their own to top the comparisons and stop them going to far. ‘Death Machine’ will tear you a new arsehole, and ‘To The Worms’ will keep the wound fresh…; not letting up! ‘Nation Of Fear’ and ‘Bloodfields’ offer a slightly slower approach mid disc, but then we head back for a full on balls out thrash attack.
