Grimy, droning sludge from this Oxford four piece and from opening track the 12 minute plus ‘Lockjaw’ there’s no let up from their relentless, despairing doom mongering. Undersmile reminds me of Electric Wizard, not only in their musical direction but in the pervading bleak atmosphere their music creates; with the unsettling vocals of Hel Sterne and Taz Corona-Brown playing a significant part in creating the chilling tone of the songs. Awesome stuff, but probably best avoided if under the influence and sitting alone in the dark. Ian Pickens
