Connoisseurs of vintage underground 70s hard rock will love this. In a similar vein to fellow Swedes Graveyard and Witchcraft (with less of an Ozzy fixation), Horisont play a Purple/Lizzy inspired style of rock; with soaring vocals and some lovely dual guitar work. Alternating between the mellow 70’s vibe of ‘Crusaders of Death’ & ‘Spirit’, and the heavy (opening track ‘Time Warrior’ and instrumental closer ‘Thunderfight’ – a true successor to the guitar solo trade-offs of Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson in their Thin Lizzy days). Yes it’s retro; yes there’s maybe an element of contrivance in the image but its good stuff. Check ‘em out. Ian Pickens
