Four tracks of UK Screamo / Metalcore, which is not my thing, but if you love the melodic transition to metalcore, sung vocals to screamed/growled vocals that all bands of this genre do, you might like this. Personally I’d like it more if they left out the slow, singy parts as the metalcore stuff is really quite good. I even found myself enjoying the metal/hc parts enough to hope that maybe the screamo was not going to dominate or kill my desire to listen to the rest of this EP, but then it starts again and I start to yawn with disinterest. Only a few bands can pull off genre mixing well, and like other screamo bands OPVY fails to keep my interest, and nothing stands out on this EP to distinguish OPVY from any other band in this already watered down genre.
