Threads – Surgery CD (Own release)
Rock music always goes in cycles. It always has and always will. There are true innovators out there trying to create their own wave, and boldy surf it instead of jumping on a body of water already set in motion by others. Threads look back to a time when the seperation of (post)punk and new wave, as two seperate genres was still in it’s infancy. There’s the punk rawness, coupled with the nervous, twitchy new wave guitars, and and an overall sad undercurrent. The keyboards take things back even further and add some delicate touches and depth. Threads only serve up four songs, four songs that are over too bloody fast. The future of UK rock lies in the past, and it’s called The Threads. Martijn Welzen
