Nekromantix – What Happens In Hell, Stays In Hell CD (Hell Cat)
With a new Nekromantix album it’s not really a matter of better, or faster. It’s always how about much more scary can this three piece get. With the hard rocking guitars, sometimes close to the NWOBHM from the early 80s, the band reaches depths deeper than the average six feet. It’s not about raising the dead anymore, but about summoning the devil. Nekromantix also dare to reach just a bit further with their brand of psychobilly. It still has all the obvious trademarks, but now that the guitars scream louder than the standup bass and there’s much more of Ramones like urgency. And it suits the band, they can chart undiscovered graveyards with this. As always the lyrical themes are about flirting with death and the (un)dead. Martijn Welzen
