We all thought time was running short. It was just a couple of months until Mayan Doomsday and we were all trying to enjoy our time as much as possible. Some of us were amassing great fortunes. Others were laying in ammunition and supplies. In Athens, GA USA they were digging themselves into some great heavy metal/doom/sludge in the form of Rat Babies. This bass, vocals/drum duo gave us everything we needed to survive the apocalypse; five new tracks of bone-breaking music that add up to their new album Bad Men.

Kill Your Idols
For me, Kill Your Idols has always been a very important band. Roll back the clock to the late 90′s and hardcore music was at a crossroads having for the most part lost direction. Bands had either gone down the metalcore path, the ’88 straight edge revivalists were happy knocking out carbon copies of their heroes, whilst others were getting signed and were sticking the harmonies and pop choruses where necessary to please the labels and crowds.

Loudness
Loudness have been the reigning kings of heavy metal in Japan since their formation in 1980. The band has released nearly 30 studio albums plus 2 dozen live and compilation albums and a smattering of singles and EPs over the years. At present, Loudness consists of guitarist/founder Akira Takasaki, longtime vocalist Minoru Niihara, drummer Masayuki Suzuki, and bassist Masayoshi Yamashita. The Shining Brazil tour 2012
Part of what we like do with Mass Movement involves spreading madness and insanity far and wide, and in particular the insanity that often walks hand in hand with thrash and crossover.
